Chapter 1Exchange Pieces
- Description
- Announced as placed in the Arsenal's entrance hall. Too clean and too square for any quarry, it does not touch the tiles: a knife's width of darkness runs underneath it. Nobody stands on the other side.
- How it works
- It buys anything graded and sells at Raw, in Marks. A Common spear or shield is forty Marks. It offered one thousand four hundred Marks for the seven pieces of the Duke's garniture without their being brought downstairs, because dormant Regalia are bought at eight times the mundane rate.

Chapter 4Room for the Living
- Status
- Dark and cold when the advance party returns, until a lamp catches the edge of its counter. Vic leaves it alone.
