Mara’s working place in Three Arches, where her table is the agreed point for replies to the enquiry for Helen and Martin. Its shelves hold corded bundles of letters, a chipped blue jug and a jar of buttons, and the room behind offers Vic and Kate beds and meals for two nights. Two collar cartridges are held there for the service engineer.
