A heavy bronze route book with worked metal leaves and a stepped spine, its corner worn by many hands. Its leaves show the known shore approach, a roofed underwater passage and a road rising to a town, beside writing nobody has yet read. It travels in a padded canvas wrapper, taken from the station with the other finds.
